We met Marilyn Feltz two weeks ago during the Vintage Salon organised at the Parisian exhibitions place Espace des Blancs Manteaux in the trendy Marais. I immediately had a crush on her Spring/Summer African print collection because it was perfect for our week theme.

But who is Marilyn Feltz?

Marilyn Feltz is a very young new French brand who opened their first boutique on last december 2014 and their success was immediately. The shop is located in the secret passage du Bourg l’Abbé (typical Parisian corridor connecting one road to another) in the 2nd district of Paris. The boutique has a boudoir look alike, very cozy, feminine, and decorated with an accurate selection of vintage objects, perfect for the atmosphere of the location: mysterious and full of secrets, just as women 😉

It’s also the story of a couple, Marilyn & Alexis who love to collect vintage objects, and decided to create a very feminine prêt-à-porter brand inspired by the 50’s very glamorous and sexy look, but updated and easy to wear in 2015. They combined a ready to wear brand with unique timeless and classic pieces of a very good quality made in France. It’s easy to combine them with accessories and also wearable with high heels or simply flat shoes. The past revisited taking the ultra feminine shapes of the 50’s dresses associated to contemporary prints. A modern Pin-Up, that’s Marilyn Feltz!

For her first  Spring/Summer 2015 collection she was inspired by the African women and their wax prints which are very typical in West Africa, but adapting them to their collection; the result is an assortment of very sexy pencil skirts and glamorous dresses with a fabric less fluide than the wax and more rigid.
